This class is the first step of the three step process that is required to get a CA State Guard Card. It includes 4-Hours of required Power-to-Arrest training and 4-Hours of required Weapons of Mass Destruction training. The course is based on the CA Department of Consumer Affairs' Power to Arrest Training Manual, and CA State BSIS course syllabus. All CA State security guards are required by the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) to take this course before they can submit their CA State Guard Card Application.
Security guards are employed by licensed private patrol operators or private security employers to protect persons or property or prevent theft as defined in Business and Professions Code (BPC) Section 7582.1.
